Help donate food and accessories during the Holiday Season for cancer patients!
We are working with the Swedish Cancer Institute (SCI) to donate food, clothing, household accessories, and other items to the families of cancer patients in Seattle area during Christmas this year. These donations will help them have a happy holiday season and put off a lot of the stress they are experiencing. Also, by doing this, children can learn to appreciate their community. Our mission for this project is to help kids understand the idea of giving back to the community they live in.
Take Action Now!
Below are some brief descriptions of the families that we are supporting this year
This patient is a young male who has been going through cancer treatment this past year. Before cancer, he owned his own landscaping business but since starting treatment he has been unable to work and has no income. He is floating between staying between his parents and sister's house. Since he has multiple food restrictions and no permanent housing, patient is requesting gift cards to help with his food needs and to allow him some financial freedom to purchase gifts for his 12yo son (who is staying with family). Prior to cancer this patient enjoyed coaching pee-wee football and hopes to be able to return to volunteering soon. He loves all of Seattle's major sports teams and has followed them extra close as a fun distraction during treatment.
This patient is living with advanced colon cancer, yet even while undergoing treatment she continues to be a present wife and mother. She and her husband have two teens, ages 14 and 18. Since being in treatment she has been unable to work and has been struggling to make ends meet. She was very touched to be nominated for the Holiday Families program and extends her gratitude to you for your support.
This patient is a lovely woman who has been going through treatment over the past year. Just before her diagnosis, her husband celebrated completion of treatment for his own cancer. Their roles of caregiver and patient are now reversed and both understand what it is to be like to be in the other person's shoes. The family has experienced financial hardship due to loss of income, first from her husband's treatment and now hers. When feeling her best, the patient enjoys spending time with her grandchildren. Thank you for supporting this Holiday Family and showing them an extra layer of TLC this holiday season.

Ms. Justine Lee and her Rose Garden Montessori School, located in the beautiful city of Sammamish, Washington, have been running this wonderful project for many years in a row in the Seattle area. This has helped numerous cancer patient families to have a Merry Christmas every year! Through the use of this program, she has helped children understand the spirit of sharing and giving back to the community. This virtue will be carried through and constantly influencing them in their future career and life.
Today we are proud to move this program online and Ms. Justine is passing it along to her students to continue to run it, as her previous students have now grown up and are starting to take on more social responsibilities, and carrying on the spirit to help the community.
Let's all celebrate the achievements this group has made, and please join the program to spread your love during this special time of year!

Dear SCI Caregivers, Colleagues and Friends,
It is that time of year again when we offer you an opportunity to provide a little extra support to some of our Swedish Cancer Institute patients and families during the holiday season. This is our 2023 edition of the SCI Holiday Families Program!
A cancer diagnosis and treatment present significant practical and financial challenges for families. As such, we have structured this program to provide an added layer of comfort and support for them.
We recognize and celebrate the many designs a “family” can take. From single individuals living alone to those with extended relatives or friends living together, we know that family is what one makes and chooses it to be. This year’s families have completed a “Wish List” of food, personal, household, pet and comfort items which will be of help to them and lift their spirits this season. Families are aware they may possibly not receive higher-priced items on their list. A small grocery gift card will also be provided by the SCI Holiday Families Program to each family so they can purchase some perishable food.
Join us to support the cancer patient families today, and put your name and picture down here!
